Player Registration FAQs

Published on December 10, 2025

Player registration can work a little differently for every league, depending on how teams are created and whether captains or admins manage rosters. Below are answers to the most common questions admins and team captains ask when registering players for a new season.

When an invited user tries to register but gets a message saying their invitation can't be found, it usually means the system can't match the email they're signing up with to an active invitation. On your League Page, check the Pending Accounts section to make sure their invitation is listed and that the email address is an exact match.

It's also worth checking the list of existing users—sometimes the person has already registered in the past. And if you sent multiple invitations, remind them to use the link in the most recent email, since each one includes a unique secure code that must match the system during signup.

If a player isn't receiving their registration email, start by confirming that their invitation details are correct. On the Players Page, look up the player and make sure the pending email address on file is accurate.

Ask the player to check their Spam or Junk folder, as some mail providers filter new automated messages. If the email still can't be located, resend the registration message from the individual player's page.

If you see a message saying you are already registered, it means you have already completed the signup process for this league in this season. Each user can only have one player account per season, so once you register using your invitation link, the system will not allow a second signup with the same email.

If your name appears in the navigation bar, you are currently logged in. Visit your Profile Page to review any remaining tasks or steps you may need to complete.

If you are intentionally trying to register twice in the same season (for example, to play on two different teams), first check with a league admin to confirm whether this is permitted. If it is, you will need to use a different email address for the second registration.

Our system supports plus addressing as an easy way to create a second account that still delivers to your same inbox. Most email providers ignore anything added after a plus sign (“+”) in the username, which means you can create a unique login while receiving all messages in the same mailbox.
For example: johnsmith+secondaccount@gmail.com will deliver to johnsmith@gmail.com.

Yes. If you have ever participated in a league that uses Ultimate Scoreboard and created an account in the past, you should use that same account when registering for any new league or season. This keeps all of your player information in one place and is the recommended way to sign up.

When registering from an invitation email or from a league’s registration page, choose the option "I already have an Ultimate Scoreboard account" and log in with your existing credentials. Once you are logged in, you can easily switch between your leagues and teams directly from the navbar.
