Team Registration Options

Running a recreational sports league comes with a lot of moving parts, and one of the most important decisions you'll make is how players can sign up to participate each season.

A simple way to get started is to personally invite each team captain to register. Once a captain receives the invitation email, they can set up a team and immediately begin adding their own players. This gives you a controlled entry point without requiring you to build rosters yourself.

Many leagues like this method because it keeps team creation organized while still letting captains take responsibility for their own roster. You decide who can lead a team, while captains handle the ongoing management of their lineup.

How to Get Started

Go to the League Page
Scroll to the Invite Users section
Select “Invite Team Captain”
Enter their email address
Click OK

Instead of selecting specific captains yourself, you can open registration so that anyone with the signup link can create a team. This can be a great fit for leagues where participation changes from season to season, or where you want new teams to form organically without needing direct approval first.

For additional control, you also have the option to require payment before a team is officially registered. This helps discourage no-shows or placeholder teams and ensures that only committed captains complete the signup process.

How to Get Started

Go to the League Settings
Enable “Team Captain Direct Registration”
Share your Registration Link or QR code located on the League Page

In some leagues, especially those that are more competitive or professionally organized, the league administration may prefer to build all teams themselves. This keeps full control in the hands of the league and ensures every roster meets internal standards or competitive balance requirements.

League owners can assign additional admins to help with this process, which makes it possible to manage large leagues while keeping team creation centralized and consistent.

How to Get Started

Go to the Teams Page
Click the “Add New Team” button
Create each team you want available in the league
Then visit the Players Page to add players to each roster
