Waiver Wire

Managing roster changes during a season can get complicated, so the waiver wire system provides a structured, transparent way for league owners and captains to move players between teams while keeping things fair for everyone.

Before teams can begin submitting waiver claims or moving players, the waiver wire must be enabled for your league. You can turn it on at any time during the season, and once active, it creates a structured process that governs how and when players can switch teams.

To enable the waiver wire, go to your league’s settings:

  • Open the League Settings
  • Locate the Waiver Wire On toggle and enable it
  • Choose the length of the waiver window in days

The number of days you select determines how long a player must remain on waivers before they become unrestricted and available for any team to pick up. Shorter waiver periods allow faster roster movement, while longer periods give all teams an equal opportunity to make a claim.

Once the waiver wire is active, team captains can move players off their roster and into the league-wide Free Agents pool. This is the first step in making a player available to other teams through the waiver process.

While a player is on waivers, any team captain can submit a claim (bid) for that player. The player remains in the Free Agents pool for the full waiver period you defined in your league settings.

When the waiver period ends for that specific player, the system settles the waiver:

  • If one or more teams placed a claim, the player is awarded to the team with the highest priority on the waiver wire.
  • If no teams submit a claim, the player becomes unrestricted, and any captain can add them to their team immediately without going through waivers.

This structure keeps roster changes fair and transparent, while still allowing players to move between teams as the season unfolds.

Not all players enter the waiver wire through team captain actions. Some players join the league directly as Free Agents. When a player signs up this way, they are considered immediately unrestricted, meaning any captain can place them on their team without waiting for a waiver period.

Players also have the ability to leave their current team on their own. When they do, they are asked how they would like to enter the Free Agents pool:

  • Skip the waiver wire — the player becomes unrestricted instantly, allowing any captain to pick them up immediately.
  • Enter the waiver wire — the player remains on waivers for the standard waiver period and can receive bids from interested teams.

This flexibility lets players control how they re-enter the league while preserving fairness for teams that may want to recruit them.
